Commitment to Energy Transition, Circular Economy. The pursuit of Sustainable Solutions through EC0FOOTPrint

Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) has recently approved the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation (PERTE) of Renewable Energies, Renewable Hydrogen and Storage (ERHA), to develop technology, knowledge, industrial capacities, and new business models in the field of clean energies.

The implication of Colfeed4Print in the sector of renewable sources allows the company to tackle a global vision about the emerging sustainability challenges enhancing investment within the market and increasing environmental protection

In this way, Colfeed4Print commitment with the energetic transition and Circular economy is promoted by the development on novel research on promising feedstocks/filaments which are used in the manufacturing of components devoted to the green Hydrogen production

A clear example is the contribution in EC0FOOtPrint project proposal that tackles the use of conductive and photoelectroactive filaments fabricated by colloidal technologies. These filaments could be printed by Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) for MultiMaterial prototyping of customized 3D-fashioned parts, adaptable to any new design of photoreactors or electrolyzers for water splitting. This project is the result of multiple collaborations among 4 public institutions (ICV-CSIC, UCO, UPM and US) that have constituted an interdisciplinary consortium which will pretend to achieve specific milestones related to the prototyping of multifunctional materials, integration of revalorized lignocellulosic biomass, thermoplastic blends recycling and use of porogens

All these challenges pretend to support the novelty with a common approach and help to achieve a unique objective: decarbonize the H2 production.
